Rolwaling Valley Trekking
Rolwaling Valley borders with the Khumbu region to the East of Nepal, the Helambu region to the West and the arid Tibetan Plateau to the North. It is a remote, secluded high valley one not often visited by trekkers and lends itself to mysterious stories passed down by the forefathers of the present day Sherpas who came from this area. The Sherpas named this deep valley 'Rolwaling' which means "the grave" due to its location deep down between the steep ice-giants of the Khumbu region.
We have wonderful views of Mt.Gaurishanker, Rolwaling Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Yalung Ri and Pachharmo peak. There is a wealth of flora and fauna including many different species of orchids and over 250 species of birds, along with monkeys, musk deer and the Himalayan black bear. The trek offers a range of Nepali culture, the Sherpa lifestyle in the settlements of Na and Beding and as we near the Tibetan border this reflects the Tibetan influence where the people are mainly Buddhists and there are many ancient monasteries and colorful festivals. It is reputed that the infamous Yeti makes its home in this isolated, lonely valley. The valley is lush with Junipers and pines at higher elevations. Rolwaling valley is a less tourist's visited area so you will get different taste from your trekking in Rolwaling.
ITINERARY:
Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1350m) Transfer to HotelDay 02 Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu valley overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Dolakha (114 km), and trek to Ratomate (1000m).
Day 04: Rotamate trek to Shingati (950m). Overnight at tented camp.
Day 05: Singati Bazaar trek to Jagat (1150m). Overnight at tented camp
Day 06: Jagat trek to Simigaoun (1990m). Overnight at tented camp
Day 07: Simigaun trek to Gyalche (2990m). Overnight at tented camp
Day 08: Gyalche trek to Beding (3690m). Overnight at tented camp
Day 09: Beding Acclimatization day. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 10: Beding trek to Na Gaun (4180m). Overnight at tented camp
Day 11: Na trek to Tso Rolpa Lake (4540m). Overnight at tented camp
Day 12: Rest day at Tso Rolpa Lake (4540m) overnight at tented camp
Day 13: Tso Rolpa Trek back to Beding (3690m) overnight at tented camp
Day 14: Beding trek back to Gyalche (2990m) overnight at tented camp
Day 15: Gyalche trek to Simigaoun (1990m) overnight at tented camp
Day 16: Simigaun trek to Jagat (1150m) overnight at tented camp
Day 17: Jagat Trek back to Singati Bazaar (950m) overnight at tented camp
Day 18: Singati Bazaar trek Dolakha (1650m) overnight at tented camp
Day 19: Dolakha drive back to Kathmandu (1350m) overnight at hotel.
Day 20: Bhaktapur & Patan sightseeing and return overnight at hotel.
Day 21: Free day in Kathmandu for shopping or relax overnight at hotel.
Day 22: Drive to Airport for flying your own destination
