Langtang Trekking
Langtang region trekking lies in the north of Kathmandu valley. It is one of the most convenient trekking routes in the north of Kathmandu valley. To the west of Langtang lies the Ganesh Himal with a range of 6000m-7000m and the region is bordered by Tibet. Tamangs and Sherpas are the common ethnic group of this region. Langtang offers plenty of scope for amazing scenery of unscathed woodlands, enormous glaciers, lakes and snowy peaks. You can trek through the pristine forests. If you prefer to do Langtang valley trek you will get option to trek just Langtang valley or Helambu valley or the journey is a combination trek of Langtang and Helambu. Helambu valley itself gives way to myriad running valleys which in turn opens a variety of possible trekking routes. The adventure begins as you cross the Langtang National Park with its entire rare species like the snow leopard. Langtang trekking is culturally richest trek where available nice Gosainkund lake which is a famous pilgrimage of the Hindus and Buddhist where is thousands of pilgrimage are visit every year.
Langtang and Helambu region offers varieties of trekking trails like- Langtang valley trek, Ganja La pass trek, Gosainkund trek, Helambu valley trek, Langtang with Helambu valley trek, Tamang heritage trail trek and Kathmandu valley trek known as Chisapani to Nagarkot trek.
Langtang and Helambu region treks trails have good network of Teahouse/lodge accommodation facilities except Ganja La Pass so Langtang and Helambu trails possible to go teahouse or camping treks as your wish.
Langtang trekking is beginning from Dhunche Bazaar or Syabru Besi after a day bus drive from Kathmandu or from Sundarijal just an hour drive.
The Langtang and Helambu trekking is possible to do whole year round but the best times to trek these areas from the mid February to end of May and from the beginning of September to until end of November. Langtang and Helambu trekking not need any special permits but you have to obtain Tims Card (Trekkers' Information Management System) and Langtang national park entry permit.
