Gosainkunda Lake Trekking

Gosainkunda Lake trekking is one of the most famous pilgrimage destinations of Nepal which is suited at an altitude of 4,360m.The best approach to reach the Gosainkunda Lake is through Dhunche, 132km to the northeast of Kathmandu. This classical trek combines three major areas north of Kathmandu along the border of Tibet Langtang, Gosainkund and Helambu. During a full-moon in August thousand of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims visit the holey lake. Along the trekking there is the challenging Lauribina La pas 4,610 meters on its outskirts.

Gosainkunda lake trekking features attraction ranging from beautiful alpine scenery to the magnificent Himalayan panorama particulary of the Ganesh himal massif, Annapurna himal massif, Tibetan Himalayan range, Machhapuchhre (6997m),Langtang Lirung (7246m),Dorje Lakapa (6966m), surya peak (5145m),Gaurishankar (7134m), Choba Bhamare (6109m), purbi Khyachu,sisapangma and several other peaks. Apart of the Himalayan scenery you can get the chance to see some interesting domesticated animals, wild animals and birds. Among those found in the park are monkeys, musk deer, Pike and the national bird of Nepal, the colorful Daphne. Along the trekking you can get the chance to see Buddhist Monastery, typical highland Sherpa villages along with beautiful Rhododendron forests.
