Langtang, Gosainkunda & Helambu trek, this is one of the most popular short and medium range treks in Nepal with many attractions: scenic grandeur, glimpse of Sherpa & Tamang life, rhododendron forest, lakes, glaciers & snow mountains. Langtang, Gosaikund Helambu Trekking trip unfolds the colorful mixture of culture and religion together with stunning high mountain profile.
Though easily accessible from Kathamndu it remains relatively less trekked and unspoiled than Everest and Annapurna Region. The area is strongly influenced by its proximity to the border of Tibet. The valley is dominated by Langtang Lirung (7225m), the highest peak in the area. This is a superb introduction to trekking, among some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole of Nepal. The valley gradually unfolds with its natural grandeur as you walk from Ghoreptabela through scattered Tamang villages. We can visit Kyanjin Gompa (Monastery) and Yak cheese factory. Retrace the trail back to Thulo Syabru and make steep ascend through rhododendron forest to the alpine lake at Gosainkunda. You get panoramic view of Manaslu (in backdrop; it is indeed an unforgettable experience. Cross Laurinayak Pass (4610m) to come out of the lake and enter Helambu region that has many Sherpa and tamang settlements and villages. Enchanting view of Gaurishanker, Dorje Lakpa and rolling green hills in the horizon is something difficult to forget. In the spring wild flowers and varieties of blooming rhododendron trees are especially attractive. After crossing Lauribinayak Pass reach at Tharepati (3510m) and we follow trail to go Kutumsang and Chisapani to end trek in Sundarijal. From Sundarijal drive back to Kathmandu but this trek is possible to end trekking at Melamchi Bazaar.
