Annapurna Circuit Trek

Annapurna Circuit TrekkingAnnapurna region is best described as the most happening incentive trekking destination of Nepal. The Annapurna Circuit trek has been proved as a highly praised and spectacular trekking route in the Annapurna region since it opened to foreign trekkers in 1977. This trek starts right from Besishahar and goes along the Marshyangdi River, with great view of Manaslu and Himal Chuli to the east. This magnificent trekking leads you to the fine village inhabited by a wide diversity of people from different ethnic groups, offering spectacular and majestic view of the white Himalayas. As it continues to the north of the main Himalayan range on to the high and dry Tibetan Plateau, the scenery is equally breathtaking.

The highest point of the trek is Thorung La pass at the top of the Manang valley at 5416m high. Due to the difficulties of crossing the pass, the circuit is usually walked in a counter clockwise direction. Traveling clockwise the longer ascent and shorter descent from west to east is too much for many peoples to manage in one day. Whatever, there are teahouse lodge facilities available in Thorung Phedi and Thorung high camp so one day extra you can spend in Thorung Phedi and next day go to Thorung High Camp which is perfect way to cross Thorung La pass but most of trekkers they stay one night in Thorung Phedi or High Camp before cross to Thorung La Pass. As we descend to the west at Muktinath (3800m) from Thorung La Top, we continue to the barren Tibetan like village of the kali Gandaki - the world's deepest gorge passes between the giant Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. After you cross the Thorung La pass we are reaching at Muktinath (Pilgrimage spot).

After Muktinath, we follow the trek trail slow downhill to Marpha before this village we cross Jomsom airport from where it will be possible to catch a flight to Pokhara, those who have short time for Annapurna circuit trekking. Marpha is beautiful village with apple garden please do not forget to taste Apple brandy, it gives you real taste. After Marpha continue trek few days then you reach at Tatopani (Hot spring), where you can take natural hot bath. From Tatopani trek to Ghorepani is all the way uphill with beautiful landscape. Early morning From Ghorepani you can visit Poon Hill (3210m) for sunrise and beautiful mountains scenery; it is best viewpoint in whole Annapurna region. After Ghorepani there are several routes to end this trekking such as directly go through Ulleri to Birethanti/Nayapul or continue trek though Tadapani, Ghandruk to Birethanti/Nayapul. Trek end at Nayapul then drive to Pokhara. From Pokhara is possible to go for Jungle Safari at Chitwan national park or take a flight or bus to back in Kathmandu. Annapurna Circuit trekking is possible to make short and long as your wish but following itinerary is more tourists used in previous.
