Annapurna TrekkingAnnapurna is one of the most famous trekking in Nepal and the Annapurna region lies towards the north of Central Nepal. Annapurna is an unsurpassed panoramic view that offers spiritual elation is probably the exact way to define the configuration of this exotic land of mountains. The Annapurna region trekking trails gives one of the easiest short and challenging long treks in Nepal. On the Annapurna trek you will be viewing a great many Himalayan peaks including above 8000 miters including Mount Annapurna (I), Mt. Dhaulagiri and Manaslu.

Animals found here are pika, blue sheep and Himalayan Tahr.

Annapurna region offers varieties of trekking trails like- Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, Ghandruk village trek, Jomsom and Muktinath trek, Annapurna base camp trek known as Annapurna sanctuary trek, Annapurna circuit trek known as Thorung La pass trek, Nar Phu valley trek and Tilicho pass trek known as Mesokantola pass trek etc. Annapurna region trekking trails have good network of Teahouse/lodge accommodation facilities except Nar Phu valley and Mesokantola pass so Annapurna trails possible to go teahouse or camping treks as your wish.

Upper Mustang or Lo Manthang trek also beginning from Annapurna trek trail, the desert plateau located in the upper valley of the Kali Gandaki River, and to the north of the main Himalayan range also falls in this region. Tourist access to Mustang is controlled to help retain its exclusiveness. The highlight of the trek includes the visit to the Mustang Palace, the visit to Lo Manthang and pony rides to the Nepal-Tibet border.

Annapurna treks are beginning from Besi Sahar or Pokhara where available daily bus service from Kathmandu but also possible to access by flight from Kathmanu.

The Annapurna trekking is possible to do whole year round but the best times to trek these areas from the mid February to end of May and from the beginning of September to until end of November. Annapurna trekking not need any special permits except Narphu valley but you have to obtain Tims Card (Trekkers' Information Management System) and Annapurna Conservation area project (Acap) entry permit.
